My advise is to take the following steps below:
1. SET YOUR GOALS
Write your goals down
2. DECIDE ON YOUR FASHION STYLING ROLE
Decide what role in fashion styling do you want pursue. Do you want to be a Fashion Stylist, Costume Designer, Wardrobe Stylist, or a Personal Shopper?
3.GET INSPIRED
Once you have decided on your role in Fashion Styling you must study the craft. Read the bios of your favorite fashion stylist, get inspired and see how they started.
4. YOUR NETWORK IS YOUR NETWORTH
Start networking with photographers, makeup artists, models, and boutique owners. These are the important pieces of how you will create your book or portfolio. It is very important to test shoot and build your portfolio. These people are your most important components of your test shoot.
You may be asking yourself, What is a test shoot? A test shoot is a photo shoot where you create a photo shoot with a photographer, makeup artist, and model. In exchange for your services you will get pictures to build your portfolio. Test Shoots can be paid or non-paid.
